Opening for Gold Motel is Ethiopians, a "surfgaze garage rock" duo comprised of Baldwin Wallace College students Marty Brass and Paul Ryan. These two have been rocking around Cleveland, playing shows at venues like Now That's Class and Pat's in the Flats, and they were one of the numerous acts to grace the stage at WRUW's 29th Annual Studio-A-Rama concert this fall. Generally opting to release their material on cassette tape, Ethiopians have one EP to their name, Beautiful Marmalade, as well as two split cassettes with other groups on their label, Tye Die Tapes. According to Brass, a new cassette by Ethiopians is in the works. Perhaps they will play some of these new tracks at Spot Night.
This Spot Night takes place on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 9 p.m. at the Spot, with reduced-fare food and drinks.
In Case You Missed It: Mac Miller packed The Spot to the brim with fans and did not fail to smoke them out of the venue with his totally dope performance. Hopefully this enthusiasm and turnout will carry over to future Spot Nights.
