The softball team finally snapped their 15-game losing streak on April 15. The Spartans dropped Oberlin College in the second game of a double header 11-3 in just five innings. The win improved the Spartans to 8-30 while Oberlin fell to 4-22 on the season.

CWRU would rally behind sophomore Ianna Wasser who would spark the Spartan bats with a double in the first, giving them an early one run lead. Spartans got a big confidence booster in the third when they landed a five-run third inning.

Oberlin tried their best to keep the Spartans streak alive but they only managed three runs: one in the fourth and a pair in the fifth.

With the taste of victory on their lips, CWRU would go for the kill in the fifth, dropping another big five run inning. Freshman Melissa Moore would double to right field to warm up the team's bats. The team would continue adding singles to the gaps in the outfield tallying five runs before the game would be called at the end of the inning.

CWRU will round out their season with a six game road trip. They will play at LaRoche College tonight and travel to Ohio Wesleyan for the season finale.
