Kyle Bednar is a senior biomedical engineering major from Dublin, Ohio. Bednar played in five games at defender for the soccer team last season, scoring two goals.

Greg Meyer: Who inspired you to play soccer?

Kyle Bednar: My high school football coach inspired me to play soccer because I sucked at kicking field goals, apparently.

GM: Nothing like having your dreams killed. Who is your favorite athlete?

KB: Pavel Nedved…only decent Czech player ever.

GM: Petr Cech? Come on, his last name even sounds like the country. Plus, he wears a helmet. What are some of your athletic honors?

KB: IM volleyball championship.

GM: That's what I've been chasing during my four years at Case. What are some of your hobbies?

KB: Umm…bonging beers?

GM: Once it hits your lips, it's so good! What is your best soccer memory?

KB: [Chris] Cservak and J Cot [Jordan Cottington] doing the scorpion to "I Like to Move It, Move It" before every home game.

GM: Classic song. What is your worst soccer memory?

KB: Losing to OWU in PK's my freshman year and getting knocked out of the NCAA tournament.

GM: Nothing like a last-second heartbreaker to top the list. What makes soccer stand out from other sports?

KB: You can kick someone in the groin and get away with it.

GM: So that's why all you guys stay on the ground so long after you get hit. Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

KB: Hopefully doing nothing, but enjoying the mass amounts of money on the beach after I invent something awesome.

GM: Best of luck to you. If you could invite any three people to dinner, living or dead, who would it be and why?

KB: Kevin McCallister from Home Alone, the guy from Police Academy who makes all the noises with his mouth, and Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr because it would be a great dinner. Harry and Marv would probably make an appearance as well.

GM: Ahh yes the sticky bandits, New York City's most feared criminals. If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?

KB: Sean Connery, enough said.

GM: As long as it includes an encounter with Alex Trebek. What's your least favorite thing about soccer?

KB: Getting hit in the face with balls.

GM: But you do it so well Kyle. If you could participate in any other sport, which would you pick and why?

KB: Professional lumberjacking, so I can grow a sweet beard and beat down foliage.

GM: Not to mention the awesome flannel shirts. What would we find in your locker right now that might surprise us?

KB: Kyle Dylewski.

GM: Who is the best athlete you've ever competed with/against and why?

KB: Anyone but Kyle Bigart.

GM: Any insight on how the upcoming season?

KB: We're awesome. In all seriousness we have a good freshman class that came in and everyone else is looking to step in the shoes of the seniors that left. We will definitely be competitive this year.

GM: Wish you guys the best of luck.
