While stress is always pertinent on campus, Case students could use a laugh now more than ever. For the second year in a row, the brothers of Sigma Alpha Mu (SAM) hope to rectify this.

Last year, the group decided to host a stress-relieving stand-up comedy show entitled Humor For Your Heart to benefit stressed students as well as the American Heart Association.

SAM president Matt Sperrazza said, "We wanted to show the campus that congenital heart disease is a cause fought by both students and adults alike, and that helping a great cause is as easy as laughing. Plus, we hope ending the year with a little laughter helps everyone relax for finals."

This will be the group's second time staging the event. "Last year was thrown together within a matter or two weeks as the [fraternity] was brand new and still unsure of how a charity event was supposed to go down," Sperrazza said. However, the event still saw decent participation, with seven amateur and professional comedians participating.

The group raised roughly $170 last year but chose to raise the stakes to $300 for their second go. If the goal is reached, Sperrazza has pledged to let one member of the audience color, cut, or shave his hair. Sperrazza said he hopes the added incentive will help push ticket sales beyond the SAM's original goal.

According to Sperrazza, ticket pre-sales have been good and box office sales should exceed last year's earnings.

Notable participants at this year's Humor For Your Heart will include last year's champion Jeff Varasso and IMPROVment president Fin Coe. The laughter will commence tonight at 8 p.m at The Spot.
