Phi Mu placed first among sororities in this year's Greek Week, held last week and sponsored by the Office of Housing, Residence Life, and Greek Life.

The annual grouping of events known as Greek Week was held last week, sponsored by the Case Office of Greek Life. Fraternity Sigma Phi Epsilon and sorority Phi Mu were announced the first-place winners based on the week's point totals.

Sigma Nu and Delta Gamma were awarded the Sportsmanship Awards, while Theta Chi and Sigma Psi won the Spirit Awards.

"The Greek Week Steering Committee would like to thank everyone for contributing to the success of Greek Week this year," said Jon Fagert, chairman of the Greek Week Steering Committee on behalf of its members.

The varied events included such competitions as Greek Sing, Trivia Night, a banner competition, Variety Show, Egg Toss, and an obstacle course. The event concluded with the traditionally competitive rope pull, which took place Sunday between the Delta Tau Delta and Alpha Phi houses.

"It is wonderful to see the campus so alive during Greek Week," Phi Mu president Elizabeth Hilow said.  "Anything can happen in competition and we definitely saw that this past week.  Phi Mu moved from 6th place to 1st place in just a couple days, and it felt great to be a part of such an incredible rally."

The theme for this year, selected by the Greek Life office and other Greek representatives, was "Greekelodeon."

Sigma Phi Epsilon's first-place finish was their second in a row.

"While not every chapter ended the week with a trophy in hand, everyone was able to get

together and showcase what our members had to offer," Fagert said. "We would like to congratulate all individual event winners as well as overall champions Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Mu. We look forward to what will be another exciting week next year!"
