Jeff Brown is a junior civil engineering major from North Olmsted, Ohio. He is a linebacker on Case's 5-0 football team. He's been playing football for 10 years. He was named second team All-UAA last year.

Joe Amick: What inspired you to play?

Jeff Brown: When I was 11, I just thought to myself, I could be on the first playoff team in school history at Case Western Reserve University, so I started playing and stuck with it.

JA: So did your dream come true? Wait, no follow-ups. Who's your favorite athlete?

JB: THE All-American Captain Brian Calderone.

JA: What's your best football memory?

JB: Gotta be the UAA championship and playoff win last year.

JA: So you guys did end up making the playoffs. Good gravy, I do love a happy ending. How about your worst football memory?

JB: Any time we lose a game.

JA: What's your favorite quote?

JB: "So the last shall be first and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen." - The Bible. That and "Hello, 9-1-1?... It's Quagmire.... Yeah, it's caught in a window this time." - Quagmire

JA: What makes football stand out from other sports?

JB: You can kill someone legally, and people will cheer for you.

JA: Senator Brown, that kind of rhetoric is dangerous and distracts from the real issue of this Spotlight: if you could invite any three people to dinner, living or dead, who would it be and why?

JB: Carrie Underwood, Pam Anderson, because, well… I shouldn't need to explain why, and Manny Ramirez because he is a baseball God, not to mention my man-crush according to Gino [Genovesi]… too bad his season is over.

JA: Did you know that Pamela wrote a book? I'll have to tell Dr. Yamak about this…would you rather have the strength of 1000 men, be able to fly, or be invisible?

JB: Definitely fly, so I wouldn't have to expend all that energy propelling my vehicles.

JA: Or you could just be invisible and sneak onto the Rapid. If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?
