Spartans place 18th at cross country NCAA championships

After another dominating season, the Case Western Reserve University women's Cross Country team returned from the NCAA DIII National Championships with some bragging rights. On Nov. 20, the Spartans placed 18th out of the 32-team field. Senior Justine Jeroski placed 11th overall, and in the process became a three-time All-American.

Women fall behind early, lose to Baldwin-Wallace

The women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season to Baldwin-Wallace College 69-62 last Tuesday. Held scoreless for the first five minutes of play, the Spartans were never able to surmount the Yellow Jackets' lead, trailing by as many as 17 points.

Spartans encounter cold spell late in second half, go 0-2 in JCU tournament

After earning a high preseason ranking and taking a win in their season opener, the men's varsity basketball hit a rough patch, dropping the five games following their season opener. Last weekend, the Spartans entered the John Steadman Classic hosted by near by John Carroll University, with a record of 1-3 and the team's two losses brought them to 1-5 overall.

Volleyball: McCutchan named first-team All-American Junior Tricia McCutchan was selected as a first-team ESPN Academic All-American member. The decision was announced Tuesday, Nov. 30 by the College Sports Information Directors of America. McCutchan, who received second-team Academic All-American status last year, was one of just two juniors to receive Division III first-team honors.

The Case Western Reserve University wrestling team lost a dual match to local rival John Carroll University by a score of 32-13 on Tuesday, Nov. 30 at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center. The Spartans and the Blue Streaks clashed in eight matches on Tuesday night, but just one ended in a decision, as the rest of the bouts were one-sided.
