Transformation on horizon for KSL

"We want to get [students] thinking about the library in a different way," associate provost and university librarian Arnold Hirshon explained during an exclusive discussion of the changes ahead for the Kelvin Smith Library (KSL). Addressing a student competition to redesign the first floor and the upcoming addition of a full-service café, Hirshon stressed the value of transforming this building from simply a place to study to an intellectual center of the university.

Many students have noticed the latest addition to Case Western Reserve University's main quad: a 156-foot tall wind turbine. The massive white tower arrived Nov. 15, was constructed near Veale Athletic Center throughout the next week, and was fully operational by Nov.

The last two Case Western Reserve University Undergraduate Student Government (USG) general assembly meetings of the semester brought forth last-minute legislation and reflection on this fall's accomplishments. On Tuesday, Nov. 23, USG passed two bills to recognize student organizations for the spring semester and provide them with funding.

Thwing Study Over to provide students much-needed break this Sunday

Thwing Study Over (TSO) is back again for fall 2010. Students looking for some last minute relaxation before the onslaught of final exams will find a wide array of options this Sunday, Dec. 5, in Thwing Center. The event will run from 8 p.m. to midnight, with food arriving every half hour from area favorites, such as Tommy's, Pizza BOGO, Jimmy John's, Dunkin Donuts, and the Cheesecake Factory.
