This year's fall concert brought a legend in the making to Case Western Reserve Universities's campus. Fame came quickly to Keinan Abdi Warsame, better known as K'Naan, after his single "Wavin' Flag" was remixed and used as Coca-Cola's commercial anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Footlighters aim for Thoroughly Modern performance of Millie

Straight from Broadway, Thoroughly Modern Millie has arrived on the set of Case Western Reserve University's campus for the first time. Initially conceived as a movie in 1967 and later as an award-winning Broadway musical in 2002, the production has been followed by widespread success.

Dim and Den Sum: Cleveland's meal on wheels phenomenon

Nestled between the Peter B. Lewis Building and the Case Law School, parked in the Cleveland Institute of Art's parking lot, a behemoth awaits. From a distance it looks like a giant red octopus wearing a hat, but do not fear, it's just a graphic on the side of a gnarly food truck.

It's not often that life gives you a second chance to enjoy something you're fairly certain you're going to hate. The year is 2008 and this critic has just received his press pass to Playhouse Square. So imagine my surprise when the second show of that year, Legally Blonde the Musical, turned out to be a good, borderline-great show.

Shaking things up

If you find yourself living the same day over and over again, you are a zombie. You are a drone on autopilot, running the same program, trapped in the same loops. If you stay on this path, you may find yourself burning down your place of employment over something as poignantly simple as a red stapler.

Small, yet dedicated group of materials science majors represent CWRU at convention in Houston

Case Western Reserve University's materials science department is probably the smallest in the engineering school, with fewer than ten majors per class, and it doesn't get much press. There are certainly advantages to having such a small department: classes are smaller, it's easier to get involved in research, and you get to know your professors better.
