The Case Western Reserve University Spartans take the field for the first time tomorrow night, hosting local rival John Carroll University. They will be going into one of their toughest regular season games in recent memory coasting on a 31-game regular season winning streak.

Spartans soundly defeat Hiram Terriers

The Case Western Reserve University men's soccer team started off their season with a pronounced thumping of Hiram College. Highlighted by goals from Jordan Fox and Vinny Bell, the Spartans opened their season at home with a 2-0 victory. CWRU dominated the game for extended periods of play, opening their account with an early goal in the 15th minute.

This upcoming weekend, the Case Western Reserve University's women's soccer team faces two new opponents - Denison University and Kenyon College - in Denison's Labor Day Tournament. Though neither Denison nor Kenyon is in the UAA conference, they are by no means easy adversaries.

I'm from Maryland where our history of winning has been on the decline since my birth, slowly nearing Cleveland's level of losing.
