Although this column has focused on political issues, this week, I would like to address a perhaps more relevant phenomenon: Christmas. This contrived abomination we call a holiday has lost all its appreciable meaning in an orgy of commercials, sales forecasts, and carols.

Junior year abroad - wait, a whole year?

As the semester comes to a close, and as I write my final article before Case students embark on that snowy road home for the holidays, it's hard to forget that I'm studying abroad for a full year, and, even more shockingly, not going home for winter (summer) break.

Copenhagen summit may not be effective

We're all crossing our fingers for next week's Copenhagen summit to be more successful for the U.S. than the disastrous and embarrassing Kyoto Protocol.

Divisive politics dilute meaningful discourse

What breeds divisiveness in American politics? Is it the politicians who craft manipulative strategies to coerce the masses for a vote at the ballot box? Or is it the people themselves who create divisive barriers?
