Cross Country

Women finish 15th in nation; Simpson has best finish in university history

The women's cross country team, ranked 15th in the nation in the latest US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll, looked to improve upon that ranking in the NCAA championships in Cleveland. While the team ended up finishing at their exact ranking, the Spartans had two All-American runners for the second year in a row and the third time in four years.

Women finish third in region, qualify for nationals

The men's and women's cross country teams were in opposite positions entering the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championships last Saturday. The women were ranked No. 13 in the nation, while the men did not even make the top ten ranking in the region. However, both finished the race with a chance to be selected for the national championship meet tomorrow, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College and held at the Highland Park Golf Club in Cleveland.
