Solid 28-7 win keeps Spartans undefeated

WR Nicely catches two TDs; Spartans claim Baird Bros. Trophy for second straight year

Solid 28-7 win keeps Spartans undefeated

For the third time this year, Case hosted an opponent and won. But this wasn't your normal game; this was Wooster. The same Wooster that beat Case 10 times in a row before these last two meetings. This is a historic battle with a trophy on the line, the Baird Brothers Trophy (see Spartan Notebook). (0) comments

Spartan Notebook

Questionable loyalty: Like communists in the State Department during the 1950s, the Case athletic department has been infiltrated by Wooster Alums. Baseball coach Matt Englander, women's soccer coach Tiff Crooks, and assistant Athletic Director for Facilities Steve Thompson have all spent time there. (0) comments

Cross Country: Men join women on top at All-Ohios

Cross Country: Men join women on top at All-Ohios

Can they run in a big meet? After coming up just short of a national qualification last year, that's the question that has lingered about Case's men's cross country team. Last Friday's first-place finish in Div. III at the All-Ohio Championships went a long way in putting those doubts to rest. (0) comments

LBJ would be great TE

This past Saturday, I woke up at basically the crack of dawn and went to serve the Cleveland community with some of my friends. As we boarded the bus, we were shooting the breeze about the night before and as we sat there waiting to be shuttled to our site for the day, we got to chatting about sports. (0) comments

Women's Soccer: Nothing appealing about loss to Judges

Women's Soccer: Nothing appealing about loss to Judges

The Spartans faced Brandeis University last Saturday in Waltham, Mass. in a disappointing 4-0 loss. With this University Athletic Association (UAA) loss, the Spartans drop to 7-6 while Brandeis improves to 7-4-1. Though the Brandeis Judges outshot the Spartans in the first half, the Spartans played competitively; the first half ended at 0-0. (0) comments

Men's Soccer: Spartans don't give or get goal in Brandeis tie

Men's Soccer: Spartans don't give or get goal in Brandeis tie

The men's soccer team hit a minor pothole in the form of Brandeis University last Saturday on its road to get back into the postseason this year. The Spartans, now 9-2-1, played a marathon 110-minute match to a draw, their first tie of the season. While the outcome is certainly better than a loss and still got Case back into the national rankings at No. (0) comments

Volleyball drops two in weekend tri-match

Heidelberg College played host to Case and Wilmington College in a disappointing tri-match for the Spartans this weekend. Case (13-9, 1-2) began their weekend against Wilmington, a team that matched up well against the Spartans' lineup. Due to injuries, the Spartans utilized several different lineups with eleven players competing over the course of the match. (0) comments

Spartan Spotlight: Jeff Brown

Jeff Brown is a junior civil engineering major from North Olmsted, Ohio. He is a linebacker on Case's 5-0 football team. He's been playing football for 10 years. He was named second team All-UAA last year. Joe Amick: What inspired you to play? Jeff Brown: When I was 11, I just thought to myself, I could be on the first playoff team in school history at Case Western Reserve University, so I started playing and stuck with it. (0) comments
