Despite denim's durability, after extended periods of time even the toughest Levi's will soon tear. Especially at this time of year, when the bottoms of jeans consistently tread in slush and rock salt, the prospects of purchasing new jeans are particularly providential.

Delta Gamma's third annual Charity Denim event hopes to provide for those who could use a new pair of jeans while simultaneously raising money in an effort to help the Cleveland Sight Center. The event's past two years have been successful; in its first year, Charity Denim was able to sell about 100 pairs of jeans, raising roughly $1000. Its second year was less fortuitous, but Delta Gamma still raised about $500 selling around 50 pairs of jeans.

This year, the sorority hopes to outdo themselves. Event organizer Emily Lawson said, "Hopefully with better publicity we can have a profit closer to the first year."

For the benefit of the Cleveland Sight Center the event promises easily-affordable prices for a good cause. With Charity Denim, Delta Gamma hopes to satisfy parties all around, giving those who could use extra year-round apparel inexpensive jeans and giving those in need something less material but just as important.
