Teams kick off season at Rochester

The men's and women's swimming and diving teams opened their 2009-2010 season this weekend at a University of Rochester tri-meet.
The Spartan men went 1-1, defeating Rochester 212-177 and falling to New York University 230-159. The women lost both dual meets 282-105 to New York and 243-144 to Rochester.
The 200-yard medley relay team of senior Drew Swartz, junior Peter Fino, junior Robby Browning, and senior Dan Wolak, placed first in a time of 1:39.21. Swartz, Browning, Wolak and junior Steven Jacobs also won the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:39.90. Individually, Browning won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 53.07.
On the women's side, junior Jacquie Buckler won the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:10.00 and sophomore Jessica Nuhfer placed first in 50-yard freestyle 25.35. Relay wise, the 400-yard freestyle team of Buckler, Nuhfer, junior Roxanne Leyshon and sophomore Stephanie Campbell finished second in a time of 3:46.31.
