The Thwing Ballroom will get all swanked up this weekend for the 20th annual Windi and Jazzi music celebration. The event, which features both of Case Western Reserve's Jazz ensembles as well as the Symphonic Winds, will feature performances of pieces by Aaron Copland and Duke Ellington along with selections from The Phantom of the Opera and the Star Wars soundtrack. Be cautious though, Saturday's concert sells out quickly and Friday's tickets will go fast as well! Time: 7:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday Cost: $8. Location: Thwing Ballroom. Info: music.case.edu



Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like obscene electric bills and light pollution. While most American households will be satisfied with somewhat ramshackle displays of lights nailed to their houses, the Cleveland Museum of Art will settle for nothing less than the most beautiful light displays in Cleveland. The 15th annual Winter Lights Lantern Festival will kick off tonight and continue until Dec. 14th, and will feature a diverse array of holiday lights in the museum and around Wade Oval. Cost: Free. Clad in their trademark suits, comedians Michael Ian Black, Michael Showalter, and David Wain, better known as comedy troupe Stella are coming to Cleveland. The trio, who formed as college students at New York University, have amassed a strong following through their short films and Comedy Central television series. After spending several years on their own, the group is together again to take their absurdist, riotous spin on sketch and standup comedy back on the road. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: $23.50. If you're in the mood for comedy on the eve of finals and Stella is a bit too expensive or just not your thing, Case's resident comedy troupe, IMPROVment is hosting their big end -of-the-semester spectacular. The free show will feature a special mystery opening performance, and the group is certain that it will be their biggest and best show of the semester. Time: 8 p.m. Cost: Free. Location: Strosacker. Monday, Dec. 8



Are finals making your life utterly miserable? A number of student groups, including USG, Media Board, UPB, and RHA know exactly how you feel. It is with these overabundant feelings of stress and worry in mind that they will collaborate to host the bi-annual Thwing Study Over. For all of Monday evening, the Thwing Atrium will be open to students looking to study, take a break from studying, pick up free Pizza BOGO and other food, or get a massage. Time: 8 p.m. to midnight.
