Greg Meyer: What inspired you to play basketball?
Rob Skuski: Being taller than everyone else.
GM: That must be nice. Who is your favorite athlete?
RS: Steve Young… he could really throw a football.
GM: Probably over a quarter mile according to some accounts. What are some of your athletic honors since being at Case?
RS: I've had surgery every year I've played here.
GM: So you're lobbying for the Purple Heart. What is your best basketball memory?
RS: Beating Emory the last game of every season.
GM: Nothing like going out on a high note. What is your worst basketball memory?
RS: Emory being our only UAA win.
GM: Well I guess the high note thing really applies in that case. If they made a movie about your life, who would you want to play you?
RS: Michael Phelps. I played him for Halloween so he owes me.
GM: Nothing says gold medal like a great movie deal. What makes basketball stand out from other sports?
RS: Not only do we have to be highly conditioned and extremely skilled, but we have to endure a five month season.
GM: That is quite a grind. What are some of your hobbies or extracurricular activities at Case?
RS: Spending hours a day in the training room rehabbing various parts of my body.
GM: Hey, that means all the sunflower seeds and Quench gum you can chew from Susie. Not a bad deal in my opinion. What's your least favorite thing about basketball?
RS: We don't get fall break, winter break, or, if we do well, spring break.
GM: Man, you guys really get shafted. If you could participate in any other sport, which would you pick and why?
RS: Wrestling, because I strangely find grappling with other men very appealing, but only if they're BJ Greenman.
GM: I won't ask. What would we find in your locker right now that might surprise us?
RS: A pair of handcuffs, seven strips of bacon, and a swimming kickboard.
GM: Just in case you come across the pork-eating swimmer who stole your car, right? Maybe that Phelps guy isn't as cool as he seems. What goes through your mind during a match?
RS: I really wish these shorts were longer.
GM: I bet you say that about a lot of things when you're 6'9". What is the high point of the basketball season?
RS: Getting kicked out of hotel rooms.
GM: Something for the football team to strive for. Who is the best athlete you've ever competed with/against and why?
RS: Toss up between Leandro Barbosa and Nene. Both are first-round NBA picks.
GM: Not bad company. Thanks Rob.
