When CWRU alumni return to campus this weekend to root for the men's and women's basketball teams, they might be surprised to find that the fifth annual Throwback Weekend has been moved to Horsburgh Gymnasium.

Spartan Spotlight: Corey Silvi

Corey Silvi is a senior defender on the club hockey team. Silvi, who officially retired from football this fall to pursue hockey, hails from Milford, Mich. He is majoring in marketing.

Freshmen making impact

Looking down the box score after a women's basketball game, you might be surprised at the all new names that fill the roster.

The Spartans lost two conference games on the road this weekend, to New York University, 70-58, and Brandeis, 71-52. They are now on a four-game losing streak.

Men's basketball gameday: Case vs. NYU

The Spartans have lost four straight UAA games since their lone conference win, at home against Carnegie Mellon on Jan. 16.

Spartans close against NYU, but weekend losses stretch streak to four

For the second consecutive weekend, the men's basketball team has come up winless in University Athletic Association play. The Spartans, who have extended their losing streak to four games, dropped decisions to Brandeis University and New York University with scores of 70-52 and 78-72, respectively.

Sophomore Isaac Dukes finished second in the 149-pound weight class at the 30-team Pete Wilson Wheaton College Invitational in Wheaton, Ill. As a team, the Spartans finished 21st out of 30 teams. Dukes was also honored as the tournament's only Pete George Sportsmanship Award winner.

It's Super Bowl Friday, and that means we've got time for one more pro football-themed column before I pack up the NFL for the winter. The last time I wrote about the Browns back in the fall, I predicted ,no, demanded, that the Browns hire Mike Holmgren. That move happened and now it's time to get to business.

Case gets win in rivalry dual meet

The rivalry with fellow UAA school Carnegie Mellon University runs deep. The schools annually compete academically and in all sports, and in a few cases more is on the line than bragging rights.
