The Jan. 12 earthquake in southern Haiti, and the devastation it caused, inspired a level of awareness, aid, and charitable response seldom seen in response to a foreign disaster. A tremendous number of governments and nongovernmental organizations alike have provided supplies and manpower, and donations from citizens began to pour in without much delay.

Learn to love learning what you love to learn

Being a political science major has taught me many things. I have learned about the political systems of other countries, how to screw over people using agenda control in Congress, and that lobbyists might actually be ridiculously ineffective. But the best part of being a political science major is the fact that the "science" part of the major confuses my family.
