As we reported last week ("CWRU nominated for PETA's most vegetarian-friendly college contest"), Case Western Reserve University was one of PETA's 32 initial nominees for a competition which is supposed to select United States colleges and universities with the most extensive and well-prepared vegetarian options.

It is indisputable that security on the CWRU campus has improved in recent years. With the early 2009 launch of the SafeRide program, it has provided an alternative way for students to go across at late hours. However, I would like to express how disgusted I was with the attitude I received from the dispatchers last Friday night.
By the end of October and with the passing of Halloween, it feels like the holiday season is in full swing. In a few weeks it will be Thanksgiving, followed by all the winter holidays and the end of the semester. It truly is a magical time of year when the weather is just right, and you don't have to start studying for finals just yet.
